Fluoride Treatment

Fluoride benefits both children and adults.

Fluoride is commonly referred to as nature's defender against cavities, and rightfully so. This naturally-occurring mineral aids in the prevention of tooth decay in both children and adults by strengthening the outer layer of your teeth (enamel), making it more resilient against the harmful effects of acid attacks.

How Does Fluoride Protect Teeth?

Before teeth erupt through the gums, the fluoride obtained from food, drinks, and supplements strengthens the tooth enamel, enhancing its ability to withstand tooth decay. This results in a "systemic" advantage.

After teeth erupt, fluoride helps rebuild weakened tooth enamel and reverses early signs of tooth decay. When you brush your teeth with fluoride toothpaste, or use other fluoride dental treatment by your dentist, the fluoride is applied to the surface of your teeth. This provides what is called a “topical” benefit.

Professional Fluoride treatment involves placing Fluoride varnish on your teeth or making custom fluoride trays or prescribing stronger fluoride tooth-paste or combination of all of them.
